Quilt With Us

Well for better or worse I have been moved out of what I called my sewing room. I have been relocated to the garage. I'm not really complaining you see because it is enclosed and panelled with a raised floor off the cement, the best part is that it is a double car garage. :)) I will forever be explaining to the man how in the world all my stuff would have fit in that little dinky bedroom. Now all I need to get is a TV and coffee pot, the other half wouldn't see me for months at a time. I have all my sewing machines in one place which means that I can run my embroidery machine while quilting on my longarm and not have to run to the other end of the house to see if the embroidery is finished. I have enough floor space to spread out a king size quilt to be pieced together. Life doesn't get much better. :)) Humm... I will have to talk to him about heaters in the winter time though.

one of those portable camp toilets would do the trick LOL. congrats on your new space. Amazing what we can fit into a small space when we have to. My original sewing room was 4X7 L shaped closet, in it I fit a sewing table, dresser for materials and equipment, a few shelves for more stash, and on the back of the door a flop down ironing board. I produce a great deal out of that little room, but was glad to expand once the kids left for University.

Your space sounds great. Think I'd add a bed to "show off" the quilts (ahem - to take naps on). Make sure your TV has a DVD player for all those great movies to quilt by, and a mini fridge. LOL. Sounds like a wonderful space for you to be in. Congratulations.

Got a bathroom handy? It will save trips to the house. All the comforts of "home". Lucky you!

Congratulations! That is very exciting, I know how it feels to get your very own space that is bigger than a breadbox! I'm very happy for you! Happy quilting/embroidering/sewing!!

I second that congrats! It sounds wonderful................. I to am in the garage or at least 3/4's of it. The rest is a toy room for our youngest granddaughter that lives with us. I have a heated floor and it's the best thing since "carter made liver pills" (couldn't help myself, it was a term my mom used many times over the years and it just came to me"....................
Have a great day!
