Return from Sister's, Oregon quilt show

We have arrived home from our holiday, which included a visit to the 36th annual quilt show in Sister's, Oregon.  The show was fantastic; if you have never gone to it, you need to do so.  My girlfriend and I arrived at 8:30 am and left at 5:30 pm.  We did not get to see all the 1300 quilts on display around town everywhere.  Most businesses had one or two inside and they hung on every building in every spot possible.  Some of the buildings are two storeys high and the quilts were hung way up there.  There certainly were some beautiful works of art.  We were told to take our own lunch due to long line ups.  We didn't since we were worried about the high temperature and keeping the food unspoiled for about 4 hours.  When we decided we should eat at 12:30, we were seated and served right away, no problem.  The only long lineup we found was when we wanted to buy an ice cream later in the afternoon.  I would go again to the show if I had the opportunity.

The rest of our holiday went really well; the guys stopped at every quilt store we wanted and we both bought some great fabric and patterns.  We visited little and larger towns along the Oregon coast and had a wonderful time exploring all the little shops and tourist attractions before we returned home with lots of great memories.  The weather on the coast was not the greatest but we tried not to let it dampen our spirits.

What troopers your DH's were!  Mine did the same for me when we went to Maine last year.  Sister's is on my bucket list too Colleen!

Oh, lucky you.  Sounds like fun.  Sisters is going on my bucket list for sure.

Glad you had such a great time. I don't know how anyone can see every quilt at that show, but it is fun trying!  How super you got to quilt shop along the way home too. Would love to see pictures of your new treasures.

It rained most of the time we were camping on the coast, too. Oh well.  Did you get to Center Diamond Fabric in Cannon Beach?

Glad you had a good time. The weather can certainly be an issue, but if the quilts were outside that is a plus....rain would send them inside....are you going to post some pics?
