Quilt With Us

I belong to two guilds in the area, and I am VP/Project Coordinator for one of the guild the I belong to. This year instead of having our BOM we had a scavenger hunt. Each month I would give them 3 items and they needed to put them into one block. It could be appliqued, sewn, embroidered, painted, paper pieced. We gave them prizes for participation, and for persons that finished. Here is my quilt, finished. I tried to quilt each block with something from that block. In the border, I quilted the words of each of the items that were the clues with variegated thread. When we were done, some of the people were making them into "I SPY" Quilts for their grand children.

To help you see what some of the clues were because the writing in the borders are really hard to see in this picture. The top left block is "Sun Bonnet Sue - Queen of Hearts _ Embroidery" . The top right block is "Tree - Purple - Frog" The picture is pained on fabric. One of the blocks has "Black Bird - Mittens - Golf Tee.

Below are What we are doing for next years BOM. There are the four seasons, they will have 2 months to complete each season. Then the flag for Independence Day to do over the Summer.

The Flag Quilt is a "Tumbler" quilt and was cut out with on of those AccuCutters.

The quilts are all lovely.  I like the idea of a scavenger hunt as well.

What a great idea the scavenger hunt is!  Really gives you a chance to be creative.  Love your BOM for next year, too.
