Quilt With Us

I am looking for help/advice/input for the winding ways block.  Just wondered if anyone had any tips for a scrappy winding ways so I don't lose the pattern or the circle effect.  Do I just start cutting lights & darks and arranging them as I go?  This will be a baby size quilt.  My templates are for a 6" block.  Any legends about babies and winding ways that I should know about?  :)    Thanks in advance for your help.

Wow, that winding ways quilt is beautiful.  I made a tablerunner yrs ago out of Christmas fabrics and then started to make one out of plaids, but never did get that one finished.  I never thought about using batiks for one, but they are perfect.

I found this photo of a quilt that really keeps the circle effect.  Just love it!  Maybe it will help....

Also, I bought a "Ruby beholder" to determine fabric values, (which are light, which are dark) that sorta helps.  Basically, it's just a piece of red see through plastic.

I can't help you but am anxious to see it when you're done.  I looked up the pattern and it makes a beautiful quilt.

PQ I cannot lend any help as I have never made that one.  But when you figure it out I will be anxious to see some pics.  I really like the pattern and do have it in a book but it is still on the list.
