As many of you know, I was lucky enough to be selected as a member of Quiltmaker's Scrap Squad and it's time for the reveal of Project #2. The original quilt and pattern will appear in the May/June issue of Quiltmaker soon to be on the newstand. Here's my version.
This pattern is Raspberry Dessert designed by Julie Herman of www.jaybirdquilts.com Julie is a talented young designer and you will enjoy her site. The original quilt was done all in pinks - hence the Raspberry name but we were asked to recreate it "scrappy". Mine was made primarily from strips I cut down from a Jellyroll I'd purchased some time ago. Just like last time, the Scrap Squad members' quilts are all so different and you can see them all here by scrolling half way down the page and following the links to each members page or blog. They will also be featured on Quiltmaker's Quilty Pleasures. The ladies did an amazing job - some added borders, some followed the original pattern and didn't. They are all really neat.
Here's the extra special part!!! Julie has generously provided us with copies of a new pattern to use as giveaways on each of our pages or blogs. So after you've had a chance to check out the quilts, leave a comment HERE by midnight April 3 and on Monday April 4 I'll do a random drawing to choose the winner. There is also a fabric giveaway in conjunction with this project on the Quilty Pleasures site. Enjoy the quilts and good luck - remember you can enter the fabric giveaway at Quilty Pleaures and the pattern giveaway on each of the SS member's pages or blogs. Can't wait to see who wins here!!!

Comment by Evelene Sterling on March 30, 2011 at 9:06pm Your quilt is very interesting without a border and I agree with Pat V that the white really makes it pop.
Thanks for a chance to win.
