Quilt With Us

I took a Seven Sisters class from Marti Michell a couple weeks ago and am working on these blocks. I've always loved Seven Sisters quilts but thought it was way too complicated to really enjoy making one myself. But.. that Marti Michell... she sure knows how to make things easier. I can make a whole block in about an hour.. and that includes cutting! I've ordered some more fabrics from this line so I can make enough blocks for a whole quilt.. probably a wall hanging. I can't wait for them to come!

I keep coming back to this picutre. I went to the MM website and can't find a pattern for her seven sisters quilt. Is this just made up of the same diamonds (or triangles) found in a baby blocks quilt? I just wondered what made her technique different from the rest. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have always loved that block also. I love the polka dot background fabric! Thanks for sharing and hope to see it again once it is finished.

My mom is the youngest of 7 sisters (and 1 brother). I've always wanted to make this quilt for her. It's been on my "to do" list for a couple of years now. I hoped to get to it "someday." :0) You've inspired me to get busy on it.
