Quilt With Us

Yesterday, was a very sad day for our family. My brother passed away after a brief illness. Jim was the brother that many of you generously sent Christmas cards to him and his housemates. Jim was diagnosed with stage 3 dementia in Feb. He fell and hit his head which cause a massive stroke. We are thankful that he did not have to live with dementia long...

Thank you again for all the cards that were sent to the "boys". It certainly made a difference in their lives. My brother was able to visit in Feb. We gave them a pizza party and bowling...but, when they got back to their home, they wanted to show my brother their rooms. They all had cards hung on their walls. A small gesture to us, but huge to them...

Thank you-

Pam

Pam, sending my love to you at this difficult time. May you be wrapped in warm memories of shared times together. So glad I had the privilege of being a part of making cards for him and his house mates.

How sad it is for you to loose your brother. My daughter, 33 with severe autism was not using the handrails in the hot tub tonight and almost fell backward. I can see more and more she does not understand and can be more than my body can control. Your request for cards reminds us that their are many around us. I know the center close to use holds a big Christmas party, everyone has a mail box to exchange cards and receive them on a table at the door.

I am so sorry for your loss.  I am relieved that Jim did not suffer with the dementia for long, but that in no way diminishes your loss.
