Today on the way home from work I saw two signs of spring. #1 was a guy on a motorcycle - on February 26 in Michigan!!! And the other was a Mustang convertible with it's top down in a car dealer lot. I don't think we're done with snow yet - but 45 felt really nice.
On a different note, Shorty, the new Mi Ki in the house (he came on 2/10) had his first visit to the vet to get checked out. Bobbin, his 1/2 brother, came along too. He shook a lot, but Bobbin, who gets groomed there & stays overnight frequently, greeted everyone with his usual joyfulness. Shorty checked out just fine. Interestingly, Shorty weighs 3 lb 11 oz & is 5 months old and Bobbin weighs 3 lbs 14 oz & is 14 months old - so obviously Shorty is going to be bigger than his big brother!!
They are both spending the weekend boarded in the cat area because they are not barkers so all of the big and small barky dogs will be away from them. They were introduced to the resident cat - who they liked. I'll pick them up Monday after work - they are getting groomed on Monday too - Shorty's first time and he sure needs it!!
And, the reason they are spending the weekend is . . . I'm going to West Branch to Caroline's Sewing Room to spend the weekend with a friend & relax & sew & eat & just have a good time. If you've never been to Caroline's, you are missing out on a good thing. Up to 6 people can stay right in the shop - she has two rooms with twin beds and one room with a queen bed. There is also a private bath, full kitchen/dining room and a small tv area. Plus huge work room and the quilt shop. Caroline is wonderfully welcoming and gracious - I had to reserve 5 months ago to get this weekend - she fills up way in advance for weekends but weekdays are a little more flexible. I usually take my day food and then eat dinner out. There is an outlet mall in town, plus a Walmart if you forgot anything. Also, there's another quilt shop within walking distance. All of this for 30.00 a night!!! I'll take some pics & post them.
