Quilt With Us

So the other half has finally gone to work. Actually he left town last thursday and has been to Oregon and Wyoming on his way back here by the day after tomorrow. So what have I been up to while he's gone?? Nothing good I assure you. I've been to the fabric store three times. Taken mom to her doctor's appointments a few times. Oh and my niece in Utah called to tell me she is expecting again. This is her third and a no no for her. She just had Rylie back in October and it was touch and go for her and they were suppose to make sure there weren't going to be any more. Ok so they didn't listen to me. This lead to the conversation about quilting. Tammy and her hubby are lucky. He has a job that will pay them enough that she can quilt her job and stay at home with the kids. she said she wanted to learn to make quilts. Big smile here. I suggested she find a sewing machine first, and then she asked me when her kids were going to get their quilts from me. I laughed, she got hers 6 or 7 years after she finished high school. So after talking to her I decided I didn't want to make the baby quilts and talked to her about full size quilts that they could use for years! This lead me to the doodling at work again and the trips to the fabric store and this is what I came up with. I love the colors and the design. I just need to make a few dozen more blocks.... lol Oh I forgot to mention, went to the movies with my daughter and she wanted to see my puppies. She stole my little boy. She will have to bring him back I'm sure, her BF has told her no more dogs. They have black labs and just had 11 puppies a few months ago.

ok sence a few of you have asked, yes I did design the block. I've named it Rylie's Quilt. This is the first of two blocks in the quilt. I'm still working on the second one to make my niece an original quilt for her kids. If you are interested in a copy of the pattern, shoot me an e-mail and we'll see what we can do to send a copy of the pattern pieces to you. ( I can always use a couple of pattern testers.) :)
