Quilt With Us

Yesterday I set out to cut scraps into different size squares, depending on the size of the scrap.  I hauled out my box of scraps and started sorting them in colors stacking them on my "double" bed. I had so many scraps that I ran out of space on the bed so decided to go to WM and buy another stack of those plastic drawers. I got two stacks (6) draws. Then the task was to make room in my sewing room closet for this extra set of drawers.  This was no small task hauling everything out of the closet and completely rearranging everything in the closet.  I'll try to post an right side up photo but I won't be surprised if it comes out side way.

That's what I'm doing with the scraps.  I didn't reduce the pixels but when I put them into my pictures I was able to rotate them.  So if you go into my pictures they are the right way.  Some times I take my cutting mat and scraps to the sewing club and craft day and just cut.  I seem to get more done then when I'm home.

I have a plastic roll around file cabinet type thing that I keep under my cutting counter that I used to toss my scraps in to.  A few months ago I made myself go through that & cut everything down in to various sized squares and strings and put them in the appropriate sized container.  So far I have been good about sticking to my guns about cutting up the scraps immediately when I'm finished with a project & I hope that habit continues.  As for the picture, did you reduce the pixels to 500?  If not, that might help the picture not be sideways.

Roxann, you are too funny.  I think any sewing/craft room is hard to keep organized.  I can have mine looking great (usually motivated by company coming) until I start a project.  And right now I have several unfinished projects.  All making clutter.

It looks great! It's such a good feeling when things are organized! A lot of hard work but all worth it in the end. My sewing closet is in need of a major cleaning. I'd post a picture but I'm afraid the show Hoarders would call me to do an episode.

I wish I could get my mess together. I did this week go through three containers and put the contents into the right place. I rather be quilting then cleaning. Thanks for sharing and helping me get even more into the mood. there was contest this week for where i sew good or a mess. I sure did not want a picture of my very messy room to win the award for the best mess one.

Yes, Pam double bed size.  Barb, I agree if things are organized it's a lot quicker to find them. I love those plastic storage units drawers.

Sometimes it just feels good to get more things organized.  It is a good reminder of what we have.  Why is it, we never run out of uses for those plastic storage drawers!
