Quilt With Us

While binding a quilt in December I decided to finish a quilt a month. I looked around my sewing room and saw all the unquilted tops laying around yelling at me to finish them. So on a mission I went. So far I'm bearly on track. I get a quilt completed by the end of the month. I'm the only quilter in my family so I guess I'm just looking for a little encouragement or just a kick in the rear.

Leah, what I have found helps me is to break the "task" down in to smaller sections rather than say I'm going to finish the entire quilt.  Maybe that would help you not feel so overwhelmed.  Otherwise it can start to feel like a job, which takes the enjoyment out of it.  I too have decided this is going to the year I get at least my smaller UFOs quilted and bound.  It is hard for me to physically handle the larger tops so I will have to pay a longarm quilter to get them done, but that can get to be pretty expensive.

It's good to get in a "finishing mood"!  You can do it!  Prioritize the unquilted tops and set a deadline.  You're doing great!!

There is a group here called Karen's UFO Quilt Along. We are all working at finishing UFO's and have a monthly challenge where we list what we want to accomplish each month. It is a fun group and we cheer each other on to get things done. Karen even has a boot she gets out once in a while to kick us into gear lol Check it out....we would love to have you join us!

YOU CAN DO IT!  Keep up the good work.  I have 13 (or so) unfinished tops waiting to be quilted.  You inspire me to get to work!
