I have been so busy. My quilt group, The Scrapbag Quilters, of Maupin/Wamic, Oregon, just had a retreat to the Oregon coast. It was wonderful. We spent 4 days and 3 nights quilting and enjoying the get away before summer starts. We stayed at Beachcomber's in Gleneden Beach just south of Lincoln City. The lady that owns it is a quilter and she has the room set up for quilting. She took a 3 car garage with lots of windows into a wonderful place for meeting and sewing. It is block off the ocean. Some of us walked on the beach or went to the casino or went shopping, or bargain shopping. There were 18 of us and we had a great time.
I have started working for another season in Maupin at The Oasis, in Maupin. It is great for fly fishing and white water rafting. We at The Oasis put on what we call Quit and Cast retreats. The men go fishing and the women quilt for a whole weekend. They are fun and fill up fast. This is not to say that the man could not quilt and the woman go fishing or any way you want to make it work.
My group gets together every Monday morning. We have had to move to our local church as the quilt shop we were meeting at has closed for now. But it is so much fun to see what everyone is working on.
