I know everyone is most likely really busy this time of year. I decided several years ago that I wanted to give handmade or vintage items to the grandkids mostly. My kids are pretty good to go and several years ago we all decided that we didn't need to exchange gifts among the adults. But the kids, that is a different matter!
One of my daughters got me hooked on Pinterest a few months ago and that place has given me so many ideas! I have made scarves out of t-shirts, bracelets out of pop tabs and am working on decopodging black and white photos onto wooden initials. But the one I want to share with you all today is the cutest little set of wall hangings that I made my beloved niece. She has been in love with snowmen for a long time and her husband loves moose. So, when Fons and Porter's Love of Quilting magazine came out this month with this project, I just knew I had to do it. Each piece is not much bigger than a pot holder, so I knew I could get it done in time. I followed the instructions (pattern complete in the magazine) except for adding a little moose peeking out from behind an evergreen tree. Now all I need to do is figure out how to make the standing frames from old wire coat hangers that we have oodles of stashed away.
After the holidays I still have quilts to get made for graduation and birthdays, things to paint for fundraiser for our 4-H club and so much more. My daughter even wants me to do a guest blog for her blog. You might want to check out what she is doing at ponderedprimedperfected.blogspot.com. I am so proud of her that I cannot even express it!
Hope everyone has a blessed Christmas and a fulfilling new year!
