DH left early this morning to give one of his lectures on local history to a historical society in southern Trinity County - don't know how many miles away, but it is a long drive over the western mountains and back.
I'm still here stitching on bindings, listening to "Il Divo", a boy band for classical music lovers, and talking to the cat. I'm rarely alone here in the valley house, and I'm enjoying every minute of it! I'm stitching on "Dragonfly Dance" and the king-sized "Rock Collection" is waiting for me. I should have photos of all the finished quilts (12) up sometime next week. I'll trickle them two or three at a time, so I'm not too greedy with my share of space on CT, and there are little stories I'd like to tell you about each one. I'm not going to put all of these in the quilt show; only one has to go in; that's "Quilted Glory" because it is a challenge quilt, and I do like the way it turned out. Others I'm still undecided about. I just learned the due date is March 25. I've been thinking it was the 28th, so now I have three less days! Yikes!

Comment by Carol Ann Hinton on March 10, 2013 at 10:30am Oooo! Happy Anniversary, Pam! (No asking for details here.) DH returned about 8:30 last night - gone more than 12 hours. I got a lot of stitching done; no stopping to fix food and stuff!
Barbara, you're getting new carpet? I'm jealous, but I'd hate to have to move everything!
Comment by Pam/NY on March 10, 2013 at 10:21am My hubby whisked me away on an anniversary weekend!!! No further details!!!!
Comment by Barbara Graham on March 10, 2013 at 9:49am Hey, I love Il Divo too! Okay, I'm an old lady but I have always preferred melody over drums. I kind of missed Saturday. I spent the day moving everything I own into a space too small to hold it. Why? After 10 years in this house--which needed new carpet when we moved in--my new carpet come tomorrow!!!
Comment by Carol Ann Hinton on March 9, 2013 at 3:15pm Hi, PQ. I AM enjoying the peace and quiet! When I'm hand-stitching, I listen to Il Divo and Andrea Bochelli, then throw in a little Josh Groban and Susan Boyle for variety; what my somewhat disrespectful DS calls "old lady music."
I love the Baptist fan quilting in an overall pattern. I also like clamshells. Both give a great look to a hand-quilted baby quilt.
Sunny and relatively warm here; brisk north wind, but nothing like 50 mph - more like 20. Just enough to blow my "hairstyle' all out of order when I went out to get the mail. We are also a little short on our rainfall this year and hoping for more. Hope we all get what we want!
Comment by Prairie Quilter/NE on March 9, 2013 at 3:01pm Hi, Carol. I like Il Divo and hear them occasionally on my celtic Pandora radio station. I'm kind of all over the music genre charts, depending on my mood.
I love the stories behind the quilts, so don't worry about taking up more than your share of CT space. I want to hear them all! That's what makes each quilt special.
I've been hand quilting Baptist fans on a baby quilt. Quick & easy and a nice change from the DWR. DH just made some minor repairs on my lap frame for me - fixes that were a long time coming and only took about 15 minutes to do. It's trying to snow here and the winds are predicted to be in the 50 mph hour range tonight. We need the moisture badly, but could do without the wind. (Isn't that the way we are? Just never satisfied.) :D Enjoy your peace & quiet time.
