Quilt With Us

In one of my monthly groups, Jo's club, a Jo Morton Club offered through our local quilt shop, we did a little project with wool..(new to me) and this is 1/2 of what I've come up with.  I made this for the powder room as it has moss green walls and I use black and moss green hand towels.  I want to hang it on the wall and I'm considering stapling it to a stretcher frame.  My questions is:  do I add batting and some quilting?  do I just add batting and frame it?  or do I scratch the frame idea.  I would love your HONEST oppinion...I do plan to add a black outside border/sashing as my next step. My background and sashing are cotton but everything else is wool.

This is the other half...I missed a class last fall and just picked up my block last night....it will be a flowerpot with coneflowers...Hope to get it done during my surgery hospital stay next week.

Oh...a quick update....surgery is Feb 14th, my stay is going to be 4-5 days...no bone graft will be needed at this time and the cancer did not spread to my lungs as of Mondays scans...I am sooooo grateful for an early date so i can get this behind me....most likely radiation after.

Good news, Debbie; praise God for his goodness.  Good luck with upcoming surgery; I know you'll do well with your great attitude.  God loves you and so do all of us quilters.

Glad to hear the good news Debbie! Sending positive thoughts your way, :). On the quilt, I haven't a clue!

I've never used wool, so just go with the good advice already given. So glad that your surgery doesn't include bone grafting at this time. Will keep you and your's in my prayers to come thru this with flying colors.  You've got a great attitude and are a mighty fighter. Hugs.

Nice project.  It will look great on your wall.  No advice here.  Will trust that the surgery will go well and you'll be back in the saddle (your quilt room chair) again soon.

Good news on scans, prayers are with you.   The wool blocks are so nice, I don't have any suggestions, but I am sure anything you do will look great.  Hugs too!

Really cute Debbie!  I'm not real familiar with wool but I'm sure anything you choose will finish this off beautifully.

Prayers for you and your surgery - looking forward to hearing this is all behind you.  Hugs!

Hi Debbie I love the blocks. I wish I could make applique look that good.

Great news on your internal state of affairs. :o) (lungs and no bone graft).  I will be with the rest of the team here waiting to hear how things turn out. I don't know if you noticed but when you get out of hospitals my DD seems to go in.  Being the 14th for surgery I'm guessing DD delivery day will now be the 19 or 20th when you get out.

Best of wishes for you and the family

Isn't wool fun to work with?  I am in agreement with everyone else...light batting, stretcher frame, light quilting.  These blocks are beautiful!  So glad the scans came back good.  I know it is still a long road ahead, but getting the surgery over and done with is huge.  You are very brave to be facing this with such a wonderful attitude, and for sharing this journey with us.
