Some "in-progress" mini quilts for our guild's silent auction

The silent auction is a fundraiser for the guild, to bring in speakers and to pay for the meeting facilities; things like that.  The dragonflies are from a UFO that is at least 5 years old.  I took a class in machine applique and ran out of the background fabric with only a few blocks made.  So now..VOILA!  A mini for the auction!  The halloween one was a kit from a shop hop I went to about 2.5 years ago.

I was hoping to get at least one of them done by the time the next meeting rolls around (a week from Thursday), but things aren't looking good; my machine is in the shop getting a much needed overhaul.  Maybe next month; they aren't due for a while, so the guild police won't be after me for a while!  :)

Your guild will love them.  I love  the dragonfly.  Nice to get UFO's done.

Handstitcher, it's not until September.  Here's a link to the details from our website.  I did two of the blocks for the raffle quilt!  :)

Sunshine, I never thought about asking for a loaner!  I wish I had!  I do have a spare, but it's really only good for piecing.  It will keep me out of trouble though until I get mine back.  The shop is about 20-25 minutes away from the house and the way gas prices are, I'll just wait it out.  They said 1-2 weeks for the repairs to be done and that's not too bad.

both are cute!  I especially like the dragonfly one.

Would the shop give you a loaner while yours is getting it's overhaul?  When I had to take my Janome in for repairs last summer, they gave me a loaner - really came in handy since my machine was in the shop for almost a month and there never seems to be a good time to take your machine in; always something that you want/need to work on.

Our guild has auctions, but they're anything but silent lol.  Members bring in ANYTHING quilting/sewing related - fabrics, books, UFO's, tools they have multiples of or that they bought but decided they didn't need after all, or patterns.  The auctions are open to anyone who wants to come bid (and hopefully win) on the items.

Very cute, Jennifer! I'm sure the guild will be thrilled to have them for the silent auction. When and where will the auction be? I might have to stop by!
