My neighbor of 35 yrs. surprised me with this quilt top.She is 88 and is moving to a care facility. She has had this stored and came across it when getting ready for a house sale. I will try to get it quilted soon, so she can see it. She has been like a second mom to us. Will miss her as a neighbor...she always kept the rest of us in line! The farm house is just too lonely and too big for her to handle. It needs a family with 6 kids running around! Good neighbors are hard to find!

Comment by Linda "Sue" Robertson, TN on January 14, 2013 at 8:16pm I am telling you girlfriend, when you give God gives back 10 fold!! He sure does bless you Pam, with desires unimaginable!!!! This is quite the gift, I know you will make it even more beautiful than it is now!! What a sweet lady, may God bless her in her days at the care facility and show her great favor with those living there and the attendants and nurses!!!
Comment by Terry F on January 14, 2013 at 1:48pm Another quilt goes to Pam's Orphanage! What a wonderful way to remember your neighbor. (When I leave I'll have enough quilt tops for everyone! No finished quilts, mind you, but plenty of tops.
Comment by Sandy Todd on January 12, 2013 at 11:15am How gorgeous my sistah! I teared a little reading your post...reminds me of my deceased friend Myrtle...not just a neighbor, but a really good friend. Bless her for entrusting you with such a special quilt top.
Comment by Carol Vickers/OH on January 12, 2013 at 8:47am What an awesome gift. And how rewarding to know she entrusted it to you as she knew it would be cherished. Please let us see it when you are finished.
Oh Pam another treasure for you! I can't wait to see what you do with it. What a special gift for you as well as a nice rememberance. It is hard to say goodbye to our older neighbors but they sure make us feel special when they treat us with such a gift.
Comment by Pam/NY on January 12, 2013 at 5:16am I will have to get this done sooner than her birthday (Oct.) because of her age. I'm afraid that when the sale happens she isn't going to do well. Her house has display rooms of things you see in museums. She doesn't even know what she has. I am trying to find the best person in the area to manage this sale so she doesn't get ripped off.
Comment by Irene Gallway on January 12, 2013 at 5:03am I agree with PQ, about the sale worth going too. I can just imagine all the neat stuff they have had tucked away for many years. The cow bells remind me of when I grew up on a farm. They were not swiss bells on dad cows but the sound of them still ring clear in my mind.
Comment by Shannon, ON on January 11, 2013 at 6:34pm Pam this is right up your alley. I know you will do a beautiful job with it! Do you know her birthdate? What a lovely surprise this would be!!
Comment by B J Elder/WA on January 11, 2013 at 6:09pm What a treasure she gave you Pam. I would love to see her face when you take it to her all quilted. I know she will love it! You have many wonderful friends and neighbors, who also think you are wonderful too. I agree!
Comment by Prairie Quilter/NE on January 11, 2013 at 5:31pm Lovely quilt, Pam. So glad she gave it to someone who would give it the attention it deserves. I imagine that would be a sale worth going to, just to see the heritage of the area.
