Quilt With Us

Yesterday i went to my youngest daughters house, Casey, to work on her baby quilt. I am also teaching her how to sew, which is challenging since i am really not a teacher. It does give us some great time spent together though and for that i will continue to try and teach . She is a willing pupil and funny too. we got the top all done except the last border and it turned out nice. It isn't the traditional baby colors that you would think of. Her baby room is going to be neutrals with little bits of color here and there. I am going to try and machine quilt her quilt, just stitch in the ditch. The pattern is called Majic Nine Patch so it shouldn't be to hard...I really enjot the time i spend not ony sewing but being with my family as well. Have a great day.
Don't forget to HUG your family members.

Love the picture of your dog. I was reading Natalie's comment here...I didn't realize that Shih-tzu's got that big. My bichon is two now and has weighed 12# for almost the last eighteen months. His best friend at doggie day care is a shih-tzu named Gabriel. His day care provider says it is so funny to watch them play because Gabriel out weighs Bear but Bear is taller and just jumps over Gabriel when they are playing. I'll bet it is a real hoot to watch them!

Like you I do baby quilts in non-traditional colors also. That way when the baby grows up they can use it as a lap quilt if it lasts that long. The one I'm working on now is for a little girl. I'll post a picture of it on my page today if you're interested. It went together quickly but I'm going to do a pieced back and I don't have that all done yet...so another UFO that I need to get done.

Just wanted to comment on the picture of the beautiful shih-tzu-be sure to give them lots of hugs! I have 2 Shih-tzu littermates, Taz and Boomer. Taz is 26.5# and Boomer is 17#!

I just finished a baby quilt today for my daughter. Her baby boy is due next month. This one is not traditional colors either as I used primary colors. It's called hugs and kisses and I embroidered little critters in the center of each hug. This is her fourth boy and she doesn't really have a theme for the baby's room. I hug my family every chance I get! Thanks for reminding us as we should never take family for granted.
