I finished this quilt only a few days ago. It is probably my fastest work yet! The piecing is not difficult except for the two set in pieces in the lower right quarter of the quilt, but the free-motion machine quilting did take some time.
All the fabrics in the quilt are hand-dyed with Sun-Printing. If you are interested in a detailed manual how to do Sun-Printing, click on this link:
Sun-Printing is HUGE FUN, although right now, we are not in the appropriate season of the year in most of the northern hemisphere... ;-)
We are going to publish a pattern for this quilt in the course of the next days, but the intro text is already online:
The name of the quilt "Spitzenstücke" is a play with words in German: The patterns in the fabrics were created with the help of faux lace table cloths made from plastik. "Spitze" in German can mean both "lace" and "great". "Stücke" means "pieces"....
Sorry, a lot of rambling, but you may read between the lines that I am quite proud of this quilt... :-D
