Love this article. I have not worked on any project for over 10 months and I sure do miss it. Now that I will not be working again (I hope) I can begin to work on some UFOs and get back into the groove of quilting and gardening. Have a good day! ;-)

Now we just need an article saying choosing and buying fabric is good for the soul as well.

Thanks for all your replies.

Thank you for the article Linda. I find quilting therapeutic. I find any kind of craft that I can do with my hands is therapeutic. I have a custom sewing shop where I sew everything from boat tarps, truck tarps, bags, leather items and clothing for the bikers, tents, covers, etc.....  I have people ask me how I can sew all day and then I go home and sew some more. I tell them that it is very relaxing for me.

It sure is good to know that quilting is so therapeutic. I'm glad you posted this article. Now I can justify buying that New Husquvarna/Viking Designer Diamond Delux sewing machine, that I have been eye-balling. Just don't know when that will be. lol

Well, if smart people at a university say it, it must be true!!  Of course, we all new it before this study.  I've seen articles that quilting is supposed to help keep Alzheimer's away too.  Sew many benefits.  Not to mention the extras....like the smile on someone's face when you give them one of your creations!

Great article!!!!! Thanks for sharing.  It has sure made me feel better since my accident to be back quilting again. I've just about got a quilt top made, only 1 more border to put on.  I put one side on last night, the other 3 I'll have done today!!  Then I can start on the back!! Yeah!!

Quilting has always been a stress reliever for me.

A good study saying what I've been telling my husband. How good it is for me and how much I love doing every aspect of the quilting. I also do some reading in the evenings after I'm done sewing. I don't watch much TV. Thank you for putting this on QWU.

Now I can justify spending so much time (and money) quilting--it's saving on doctor's visits. Good news!
