Quilt With Us

It is a nice sunny morning here in the East but very cold. Good weather to sit and sew. But lately I have found that other things have been chewing up my time and keeping me from my sewing room. I'm working on another baby quilt.  I have a lot of UFO's to finish once these quilts are done.

I'm enjoying the quilting guild that I joined a year ago. We have a page on F B. It's called St. Croix International Quilters. Lots of pictures to see.

I belong to three sewing groups. I get to work on my projects without interruptions.

I hope you're all keeping warm/ cool and healthy where you're at.

We are currently fairly warm and dry. Two years ago at this time the dogs were walking out of their yard, over the fences, on deep drifts. And it was COLD. It can return at any time. Our younger son in Minnesota is receiving the bad weather this week.

I don't blame you Pam for heading out before the storm. This time of year if we want to go to Bangor we check the weather so we won't end up driving in a storm. Have a great Winter and keep us posted on your shopping trips to the quilt shops.

Janet I think the problem with my tenants divorce proceeding is her lawyer. When I got divorced it didn't take half as long as this. I know her husband has been delaying signing document etc. so he could be stalling the ball. But I wish it would happen soon so I can get out from under the taxes, and other bills.

Have a safe trip to FL Pam.

Barb, our temps are supposed to drop this week too, but nothing like you all are supposed to get.

Irene,  your tenant sure has had problems getting divorced hasn't she?!  I hope she gets that settled soon so  you can proceed with the sale of your house.  I made good progress on my quilt top yesterday & hope to finish sewing all the hsts together today.  I need to make 24 more, but that won't take too long.

Good morning ladies-

We just returned from a quick trip to VT. Would have loved to visit some of the local shops, but the ice was horrible. Got home Sat. ,unpacked, washed clothes, and checked the weather. We are heading south around noon to beat a storm coming in tomorrow. Will drive as far as Maryland tonight. Hope we can drive out of weather issues tomorrow. Will be off line for awhile. Keep those needles moving....

Janet you have a lot of patients to cut out and sew 360 half square triangles. I will look forward to seeing the finished quilt. Barb, I do enjoy my three groups of quilting sisters. I haven't taken many classes with the quilters as I don't get them finished in class and don't have time at home to start new projects with so many UFO's to finish. Kathy, I know how long it can take to sell a house. I finally decided to move and rent my house. My tenant wants to buy it but her husband is not cooperating with the divorce process.  I moved in 2015 to a Senior complex and love it here.

Hello Irene.  Not much going on here on the west coast.  We've had a very very mild winter here.  very few days were it was even at freezing temps.  I bought a HQ sweet 16 last year and because we were suppose to be moving I never opened the box.  Well we still haven't moved yet and sense we are still working on getting our house fixed up for whoever the lucky new owner will be, I have a room in the house that is finished and thought what the heck.  I have my machines set up and sewing a new quilt and trying to learn to do quilting sitting down.  I keep telling my self move the fabric not the machine.  Kind of entertaining sometimes.    Stay warm and safe.

I'll have to check out that fb page, always love to get inspiration from seeing pictures that have been posted.  Belonging to 3 sewing groups sounds fun.  We are supposed to get hard hit by a snowstorm tomorrow, followed by days of very bitter cold.  I'm sure I will get some quilting in, but if schools are closed I will also get to enjoy some quality time with my granddaughter : )

Good morning Irene.  It is gloomy here in Mid-Missouri, but thankfully no more snow!  I'm happy to hear that your quilt guild has turned out to be a fun experience.  I have belonged to quite a few over the years, but currently don't belong to any.  In some ways I miss it - some ways I don't.  I am getting close to finishing another large scrappy quilt.  This one will have 360  4" half square triangles.  My original thought was to add a solid border and then a pieced border, but now I'm not sure I'm going to do the pieced border.  I started this to use up 5" squares that have been accumulating for many years, but it sure doesn't look like I used up very many!
