Quilt With Us

This quilt is based on a Sudoku puzzle and is the second one I have made. I am tying the first one now so it is taking longer. I think they are a lot of fun and I am always tempted to start another one even though I have piles of UFOs begging to be worked on. In a Sudoku quilt (or puzzle) the same single fabric (or number) may not appear twice in the same row, column or in any of the nine blocks. The first photo is the back; the second is the front of the quilt.

Your quilt is beautiful.

I love solving sudoku puzzles (that's the mathematician in me). I have made several sudoku quilts with charm packs, the finished size is just right for a baby quilt. I print out the sudoku puzzle solutions then I group the pieces accordingly (it's simply is 9-patch quilt). I label the pieces and then I take pictures before I sew them together.  I don't know how many times I have put them up on the wall and not finding the right combination, so labels are quite helpful.

Thanks for all the nice comments! I should have said Sudoku puzzle solution. That would have made it clearer. Charm fabrics would be a good choice. Already coordinated, already cut. I don't do the Sudoku puzzles in the paper; I prefer the crossword puzzles.

Nice job, Jodi! Your quilting really complements your work. I, too, love Sudoku puzzles and start my day with the one in the paper.
