Quilt With Us

Summer weather has finally made its way  here.  We had a very chilly spring.  We've had good rains, which makes things nice and green.  I made a couple of baby quilts and a wedding quilt over the winter months, along with some bowl cozies, a table runner, and a microwave potato bag.  There is a partially finished baby quilt hanging on my design wall.  It still needs a border.  Just haven't gotten back to my sewing room recently.  My goal over the past year or two has been to use only fabric from my stash.  It has been challenging, but fun, and has helped me - or forced me - to be more creative and to understand scrap quilting a little better.  There have been some fun surprises and a few "meh" results - all of it a learning opportunity.  I'm not very prolific these days, but I am enjoying the process.  (Still don't love the math, though...)

Happy quilting!

Yup, like the rest of you, I am trying to use up my scraps...only I am trying to justify buying new fabrics.  I am loving the depth of the new digital prints, and the ombres.  Also, with the long, challenging winter we had, I am doing more in some very bright colors.  I will post some pictures soon.

I also am trying to use up my scrapes & I've got a long way to go. I'm making pot holders, micro wave potholders, place mats, coasters and baby quilts. I sure make a mess when I drag out the scrap containers to see what to match up or just go with the flow. I love reading about all the things going on.

I too am bound (pun intended) and determined to use up my stash.  I love making scrap quilts so that helps.  That is also why I have started making tote bags & purses because they are a great way to use up those pieces of fabric that are too small to do much with, but too big to toss out.

Welcome back P.Q. You have been missed. I have been using fabrics from my stash also. I had a lot of 100% cotton fabric given to me. All different color's. I have been making baby blankets out of scrap flannel for a charity. I'm still taking in alteration's and I make new creation's for clients.

Thanks, Peggy.  Not too busy quilting, but it seems I'm busy with other things.  Or it's just possible I may not be a very good time manager... :D

Sounds like you've been busy. I know what you mean about the math. If I had known when I was in elementary school how often I would use arithmetic, I would have worked harder at it. I can do math, I just can't add, subtract, multiply or divide, which is a handicap.

I've been trying to work from stash, too! It challenges us creatively, I think.
