Quilt With Us

Good afternoon to all. Well the saga of the foot pedal is over for now. I returned the sewing machine. Purchased my foot pedal of gold (figureativly speaking), held my breath plugged it in and yes it does work. Talk about a sensitive pedal. I can break the sound barrier with the speeds my Pfaff goes now. I don't think that my machine has ever worked this fast before. This is going to take some getting use to for sure.

I have noticed that the speed the machine works at least on the zigzag stitching is affecting the look of the stitching. I was wondering if anyone else is having the same experience with their machines using a different foot pedal other than the one that came with their machines?

Oh and thanks to Paula/TX for the offer to help locate another foot pedal. There are plenty of them available up here just hated to spend almost $200.00 for a pedal. The nice thing about this one is if the dogs do get ahold of the cord again, I only need the cord which plugs in to the pedal and not the whole unit.

Kathy, don't throw the old foot pedal away - there must be gold in it somewhere to make it so expensive, don't you think? (ha). It is a shame what some of these companies can gouge us for. Just imagine $200.!!! Well don't let the dogs chew this one LOL.

Ok if you want to know, there is nothing inside the foot pedal, truly. I took mine apart because I did have most of the cord left. There is a wire bracket that makes a connection between a copper washer under a spring that connects to a card that is in a slot at the other side of the pedal. That's it. That's all there was. My problem, the dogs chewed too much of the cord in different places.

Wow - $200 for a foot pedal? That's more than the price of my whole machine. But I'm glad you got it and are back in business.

I'm so glad that at least the cord is now replaceable. Hmmm... might not hurt to have a spare on hand, just in case.
My foot pedals are interchangeable between my two machines and they both are fine no matter which machine they are plugged into (neither are a Pfaff).

Don't you wonder what is in those foot pedals to make them so expensive??? It's great that IF something happens again you will only need the cord. I learned my lesson with a house rabbit.
