I just got back from spending 2 weeks in Oklahoma with my daughter and family. Remember the Taggie Blankie I made for my granddaughter for Christmas? I got to see it "in action"! It is a favorite quiet toy during Sunday morning church. It is a favorite soothing toy for nap time. And no longer is it just a hat. Granddaughter pulls it off her head and giggles as we say "Peek-A-Boo"! She seems to have one favorite tag--the wide turquoise embroidered ribbon. That one has more texture to it than the others and she loves feeling it!
The size of the blankie (~12" square) seems to be just right, and the double layer of flannel, with no batting is a good weight. And I'm happy to say that after several washings, the blankie is still holding together! No frayed tags, nothing coming apart. I'm glad I did all that double stitching as I put it together.
I've seen a line of "Taggi" items in stores, but I think by making them at home, one can include a wider variety of ribbons and trims as tags, making them more interesting to the touch!
