Quilt With Us

Thank you to my QWU family on the passing away of my Mother....

I would like to extend a special "Thank you " to all of you on QWU that left comments in regards to the passing away of my mom. As Linda Sue posted she had Lukemia and battled it for 15 years....the last few years were the hardest. I knew that God would soon take her from us, but the timing was a little sooner than expected. We had her funeral on Saturday, October 6. That was one of the hardest things to do... But God has given me nothing but his excellent Mercy and Grace over the last week, I feel as though my feet still aren't on the ground and my head in a fog, but I know my Lord has been carrying me all this time. It's nice to know that I also had the support of all of you here on QWU!!!! So again THANK YOU!!! I love all of you!! God even brought someone new into mine and your lives in the events of all of it.... As many of you know I have my son Danny that is special needs... During the days after my moms passing I had to increase our nursing help so that my husband and I had extra support... her name is Tracy and she loves to quilt... All hand quilting at that and I told her about QWU and now she is a new member here!! She is on my friends list if you would like to meet her and in fact I had been asking God to send me a new quilty friend close by and he did!!! She is also a Christian and that makes it even better!!! He is so good!!!!!
I plan on spending a lot of much needed solitude and time in my sewing room in the forth coming months, as I sat by my pool the other day trying to take in all that has happened I noticed the leaves starting to change and shed from the trees, as fall comes, then winter, I will take time to grieve for my mom.... As I know that it will be a long hard winter...but I know that when spring comes I will have a renewed strength and things will seem brighter and better... As so many say time will heal.....
May God Bless each of you for your kindness and support during mine and my families time of need.

Aww Sharon! Your words are touching. Our time on earth is so fleeting and it is always a blessing when God sends us someone to help us through life. I am honored and blessed to have met you and your family. I am looking forward to the future and getting to have a quilting friend so close by! I'm still praying God comfort you and your family as you deal with the loss of your mom.

As hard as it is to say goodby to our loved ones, it's comforting to know that others care.  Many of us have been in your shoes and understand your pain and grief.  God is so good about bringing just the right people into our lives at the right moment.  I hope you have many joyful hours with Tracy.  I'm glad your Pastor shared with you that your mother was at peace with God when she went to be with him.  That is so comforting to know.

Sharon--I'm so sorry about your mom, but thankful for the comfort that God is giving you.  Praying for blessings and peace for you.

How kind of your mother's pastor to share such a comforting message. I'm so glad you got extra help in caring for Danny and how wonderful that's she's a quilter, too! Grieving takes time and often sneaks up when you're least expecting it, so be kind to yourself.

Sharon, I am so glad that you were able to speak with your mom's pastor.  He surely did answer you prayers.  He never leaves us or forsakes us!

It's always a blessing when we can see the Lord's hand at work to bless us even in the midst of our trials.  Glad He is carrying you through this time.

Sharon, I hope only happy memories fill your thoughts of your mother. Time is a healer.

Thank you Linda, BJ, and Barb... One important thing I forgot to add is that her pastor and I talked and he said she made all things right before she passed and they said that she went peacefully...I know in heaven one day we will see each other again.....god answered my prayers ,,,,

Sharon, what a blessing God gave you in bringing Tracy into your life, for so many reasons. For the sorrow and pain you are going through, I know you are delighted that your mom is no longer suffering. Such a blessing that is. I'm glad you are allowing yourself time to grieve -- it takes each one of us different amounts of time for that, but you are not alone going through it. You have the best shoulder to lean on that there is. You continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

Sounds like God has sent you a quilting angel to help you through this trying time.  Hopefully it will help ease some portion, however small, of your pain.
