Hi Gmakitty,  I also want to welcome you to the site.  I have been a member since the beginning of this site and still count it as my favorite site.  I have a dear sweet aunt who came from Manitowoc Wi. many years ago.  I hope your enjoying your new found, hobby quilting.  I started a few years back but am still learning.  I do mostly baby quilts or smaller things like table runners etc. as I prefer to get them done in a timely manner.  The bigger quilts takes me forever.  My church has a gospel concert every month.  Groups come from all over the U.S.  and then they book again for the following year.  We put out a big lunch and we are getting people from both sides of the border attending these concerts.  The only charge is a freewill offering.  People are quite generous so the bands do well.  I live in Maine on the Canadian border.

Welcome, Kitty.  I am a Wisconsinite also.  I live in a small town, Hawthorne, about 20 miles south of Superior.  I have heard of Balsam Lake but will have to look at a map to see where it is.  We are a bunch of nice quilters willing to answer questions, etc.  Connecting Threads has good quality fabrics at a great price.  Their other products frequently go on sale, too.  Happy quilting!

The main room is a chat place at times. Most people will post pictures or make comments to questions. I think that "you are not currently moderating blog comments" is when you want to read the comments before the public can read them. It is rare anyone says anything negative on CT. if you have any questions just post them on the main page someone will help you find the answer. I hope this helps. Have fun quilting.

I am from central Wisconsin, and that was some really loud thunder, and bright lightning last night!  Sure am glad all that snow that is supposed to be coming will be north of here!  Happy quilting!
