Quilt With Us

The house is mine for the weekend!!!!

Horay, the other half is off to work and then camping for the weekend!!!! Ok yes I will miss him but he just doesn't understand what it takes to make a quilt. I've tried to explain to him why I really do need to use the dinning room table while sewing, (he didn't go for the fact that it was closer to the coffee pot!). I am not real big on being in small rooms, and I've always used the dinning room table when making the quilt tops, he was warned about this when we were going out. Then there is the living room floor. Where else is one suppose to assemble the top, batting and backing?????? Some how he knows when I ask him to move the furniture so that I can clean under couch and love seat that the next words out of my mouth were going to be just leave it over there so I can put the quilt pieces together real quick. :)
Over the past couple weeks I've had problems with my shoulder and this morning it feels pretty darn good. I figure that by this weekend I should be able to work on my projects. I've made a quilt from the Pam Bono collection that I am going to sacrafice to the new longarm sewing machine, oh I mean practice with on the machine.
I also asked some of you for help on trying to figure out how to draw circles larger than the plates that I have in my cupboards. Wouldn't you know it, the other half came up with a solution for me. (And I didn't think he cared!!!!) I'll see what I can do about scanning it into the computer and posting it on here for all to use.
I'm off to work, have a great day.

Enjoy the freedom and the coffee. I have to go up and down steps to get to my coffee. But then I got smart and took a thermos with me....;o)

Kathy, I too use the dining room table when quilting. Enjoy your weekend with fabric. Happy cutting, sewing and quilting!

Kathy, you are a woman after my own heart. I to sew at the dinning room table and I also lay my quilts out on the living room floor to assemble them! it makes it so much easier when you have room to work. all my quilt stuff is in my "sewing" room but it tends to gyrate out as I am working, then I have to put it all back when I am done. and I am glad that you have a long arm to practice on! I have a mid arm and I love it. though cant do what a long arm can, it still does what I need it to do.

so keep on sewing at the table! tell hubby that you get lonely in the sewing room and need to be out where there is people
