Quilt With Us

The Souris River runs right through Minot ND.  The levees have failed in many places but the river has not crested yet.  Seven adults and 4 teenagers and 5 dogs are sharing my sisters 5 bedroom house.  Some sleep on the couches in the Family room and my DD has an inflatable in the exercise room  oops forgot my GS  he is 6   One kid lol   The 2 refridgerators are full from all the empty fridges my sister, DD and brother emptied.  I don't think they will starve for a couple of days.  Also DD and sisters freezers are in the garage.    Not sure where my DD cat went.  Just one big happy families so far.  I could just cry...Thanks all for your prayers. They are all safe.

Marnie, I feel your stress...nothing worse than not being there to give them at least a hug. Stay strong.

Thanks all  We saw my DD trailer surrounded by water about half way up on the door.  You know it can happen but when you see it, well it is upsetting.  I feel so helpless so far away from them.  So far my sisters house  and my brothers house seem to be ok, might have some basement water but not surroinded by water yet.  Sis Jan to took them all in is an angel!

Hi Marnie,

Thankfully all of your family is safe.  We recently went through the same thing here in Memphis when the Mississippi River overflowed its banks and left a lot of people homeless.  Thankfully my family was spared as well.   It will  take a while for the waters to receed.  It took about 2wks here but I can relate to your situation.  I'll keep you in my prayers.

Thankfully they are safe and sound like they are well fed...:-).  Floods in the north and drought in the south....too bad there isn't a way for a happy medium for both.  Will keep all in my prayers.

Don't cry Marnie!  Be proud of how they have all come together to overcome this trying time.  If you must cry...cry with joy!

Marnie, thank the good Lord they have you.  I am sure you are a blessing to all of them.

Glad they are cozy and safe. I was just reading more on the situation in the midwest, Missouri River area in the paper. Hopefully soon things will calm down and people can get back to their homes.
