Quilt With Us

Hello everyone,

Hope all is well with you. I havre been busy trying to give my kitchen a small makeover. Putting up the final touches on the wall paper border and want to make some scarf valances but trying to decide if I should serge the edges or just do a overcast seam. I am using a sheer material (chiffon). We are trying to finish with deep cleaning and making some decorative changes to the house.

Want to get it done so I can move on to making more ornaments for the tree this year. I need to make about 25-50 more. DH and the kids decided they wanted a bigger tree this year for Christmas and so we got a 9ft. Then I realized oh boy need more ornaments now!!!

I also need to finish my UFO's. I want to start this next year off by making sure I only work on ONE project at a time and FINISH IT!!!! I have been reading a book on boundaries and it made me realize why I get excited about a project but then don't finish it without moving on to another one sometimes. So I am working on that one!! lol

Well hope you have a good rest of the week and would love to hear from some of you.

Take care and God Bless!!!

Sharon

I love starting new projects too and need to work on some boundaries! Good luck with the valances and please post a pic after you hang them? Sounds very pretty.

In June, I told myself that I couldn't start another quilt until my stack of 48 UFO's were completed! It's been a struggle, cuz I'm surrounded by daily emails of fabric sales! So, far I've resisted purchasing more fabric - unless it's needed for a back or binding.

Am waiting for my sewing machine to get cleaned & oiled....then quilts #31 & 32 will be completed, hopefully by next week. I'm getting there....but this "finish as I go" method, might just kill me!! LOL

If you're not already a member, you might want to check out the Karen's UFO Quilt Along Group here on QWU. We encourage each other to finish UFO's and have a monthly challenge where we list what we would like to accomplish each month. Fun group! And it does help keep some of us on the right track to finishing some of those UFO's.

Chiffon would look lovely with a serged edge. Hope you reach your goals on all your projects.

I would think the serging would be the way to go with our valances. You have a lot on your to do list.
Boundaries are good. Sounds like you are making progress.
