If, you could ...would you?
There definitely is something in a name...that is why some of the older names have gone by the wayside. I will say, naming your baby Apple, Olive, Basil, Jet, etc. is a stretch.
HMMM...I think for the day...I will be called Liz...I hear that name, I think of fun. Boy will my hubby be surprised when he gets home tonight from a business trip!
What is your pretend name for the day?

Comment by Lindsey Ray on February 14, 2013 at 6:37pm I like my name, although most Lindseys are quite a bit younger than me. When I was younger, Lindsey was primarily a boy's name. My dad called me Suzy-Q and Skinny Linny (shiny as a penny). Two or three others here are Suzy-Qs, I think it must have been a 1950s thing, which is when my dad was in high school. Fun question. :)
Comment by Pam/NY on February 14, 2013 at 11:05am Talking to dead people...now there's a topic!!!
Ginnette, I am currently reading a book by Karen White and one of the main characters is named Ginnette. For those of you who enjoy reading "ghost stories", I highly recommend this series. The first book is called "The House on Tradd Street", the 2nd one (that I'm currently reading) is "The Girl on Legare Street" and the last one is "The Strangers on Montagu Street". They all take place in Charleston South Carolina. The Ginnette in the 2nd book is an opera singer and she & her daughter have the "gift" of seeing dead people.
Pam, I belong to Jo Morton's Yahoo group. One of the other members designs quilts using Jo's fabrics for Andover Fabrics so several of us decided to make those blocks using Jo's fabrics. I am not using the fabrics from that particular line as it was a bit too somber for me, but I am using other Jo fabrics. I was able to make 3 of the blocks yesterday afternoon. They are 6" blocks and some have quite a few pieces in them so I was pretty happy with my progress. I wish the picture turned out a bit brighter, but I think you can see the blocks okay. Plus I also hand quilted 2 sashing strips in a quilt called "Borderland in Butternut & Blue". This is from a book published by Barbara Brackman a few yrs ago and it is an excellent resource on the conflict between Missouri and Kansas during the Civil War. The theme of our quilt show this year is the CW so I'm doing my best to get this quilt finished in time to enter it. Each block is dedicated to a woman who was influential during that time and there are lots of references to the part of Missouri I now live in. A friend gave me this book for Christmas before I moved to this area, but now after living here for 4 yrs it means even more to me.

Comment by linda harriott/UK on February 14, 2013 at 2:23am My computer was off most of yesterday so can I be Grace today please?
All my life I have been clumsy and accident prone but I am sure with that name today I will sail through unscathed.
