Quilt With Us

Picked up the gdsons to give DIL a breather! Went to the mall to play video games and laser tag. We're walking through where Santa was talking to the kids. The boys had seen Santa the day before at our local True Value store where Jeff/Santa has been for years. They are checking Santa out and the youngest yells out...That's not Santa...he's a fake. The real Santa is in Manlius!!! Hubby picked him up and we hurriedly left the area! I hope, we didn't spoil anything for some of the kids in line. We had our talk about Santa has brothers who help him just before Christmas because there are so many kids to talk to. They mulled that over for awhile. Heard Brayden telling his mom all about Santa's brothers, so hopefully that won't happen again! 4 yr. olds are loose cannons!Merry Christmas to everyone...be safe in your travels!

Great story and such a great picture.  They are very handsome young men!

!  I didn't like the day our children found out about Santa, really bringing home the fact that they were growing up!  :(

I hope you and your family had a very Merry Christmas!

Cute story Pam!  Thanks for sharing.  Our granddaughter Macy has learned which button on her mom's phone is our number.  She calls frequently...one night at 11pm for goodness sakes.  She called yesterday & the first thing out of her mouth was, "gramma, bring me more cookies, we ate them all".  Kids!  They shoot straight from the hip don't they!

I'll hate the day that the boys learn about SC, but hope we can explain the spirit of Santa and all that it brings. I started the oldest this year sponsoring buying a rabbit for a family in Africa to help them start a business. You can buy all kinds of animals...he chose a rabbit. Hopefully, it will teach them the spirit of giving...

Kids are always thinking.  And are usually smarter than what we give them credit for.

When my kids were 3 and 4 1/2, my daughter asked why there were so many Santa's and I told her that they were his helpers, so he could get all the kids names and what they wanted. She didn't believe me, so I said that if you believe in Santa, he's real and if you don't then he isn't. She said she didn't. But, her younger brother did and she kept the secret and he discovered it when he was 7. I was so proud of her. Those grandson's are good looking boys. Have a Merry Christmas with your family.

My mom told me about her childhood with Santa Claus.  Her parents immigrated from Holland, so Sinterklaas was verfy important and Sinterklaas Day was celebrated Dec. 6.  For Mom that made great sense as she figured it would take him from then to the 25th to get from Holland to where she lived here in the US.  As she got older and found out about Santa Claus it hit her really hard as she truly believed in him.  She started questioning if Jesus was real.

Not sure how she got that all straightened around, but I can say we DID do Santa Claus and stockings growing up and it was always such fun -- even though we always knew that SC was not ....     I admire my mom for being able to keep SC a part of our Christmas without rocking our faith and belief in Jesus.

Our stockings are hung and we're excited to see what SC has left us this year.

Merry Christmas Pam. I know it will be joyful and lively and full of surprises at your house.

We all know Santa gets around. That's how he can deliver all those presents.
