Quilt With Us

I have a ton of UFOs but there is always something new and fresh that beckons to me...calling me to start something else. Is it the advertising that makes me want to start new projects? Or the beautiful new fabrics? Or the social aspect of taking a class with friends? I like to think part of it is that my creative juices are overflowing with ideas that need to be expressed and i have precious little time to do it all....so I begin something and begin something and begin something else. Now...for the new year I promised myself I would work on those neglected quilts and what ever I start this year will get finished. This week alone I've started 2 new projects....I'll let you know how it goes.
So here's my question to you...how many UFOs do you have? Will you commit (with me) to finish one of them by, lets say, end of march? We can do it!
Post a picture of your UFO and lets see what we can do to encourage each other! I'll post a pic this afternoon!

I will try and get a picture soon. It has 63 blocks and I am nearly done with 9 of them so a long way to go, but I just love hand work! I have insomnia, so I sit on my bed trying to fall asleep and just quilt away.

Ok I have 16 UFO's Not including the several buried away from different classes that just plain scare me. Nor did I include the few that just need binding. I'm working on the most recent UFO because I'm winging it! No instructions to decipher! But math is involved...and pinwheels. LOL. Soooooo or should I say seeeewwwwww....my first goal is to finish that one by end of march. Dig in peeps!

I know, I really do need to get one finished! I was working on the Easy Street quilt, but I decided to postpone it till later. I only finished step 1, all those little 4 patches! I have a huge stack of them, but that is all I actually got done.  I am pretty close on several other quils. I am hand quilting every night to try and finish a red and white quilt, so hopefully I will have one soon! Good luck on tackling something in your sewing cave! :)

Amanda...you need to make a quilt for yourself!!!  Aren't you working on Bonnie Hunter's EZStreet? Finish that one...and keep for yourself.  Tomorrow I'm going to be in my sewing-cave and will try to tackle something old.

I'm with you, Roz! I am really trying to finish more things than I start this year. Since then I have only started one new thing, which is good for me! Last year alone, I accumulated 18 new UFO's! So I must get to work on these! The funniest, (saddest?) thing is that I don't have a quilt myself! I use a cheap High School Musical comforter! I have never even seen the movie I just use it upside down, because the back is light pink with stars. So I will try to get things done this year if at all possible!

I have made four quilts top since Jan. 1st, now have three more UFO,(one got completed for a birthday)  to go along with ten from last year needing to be quilted in that cold, cold room. I do have UFO quilt top that I started Thanksgiving for Christmas. Did finish cutting out its'  setting blocks last night. Hope to get it done this week. At the same time have been itching to make an Easter quilt using up left over fabric. So if I get all 13 quilted by March 31, that would be wonderful goal. It will only happen if I  have little subbing work and a warm room. I don't really enjoy the longarm quilting process. I should  be able to completely finish another quilt by March.

Ugh.  Groan.  I am afraid to count my UFOs!  I started a table runner kit this week.  And have a Rapunzel dress ready to cut out on my table.  But, okay Roz (more groaning here), I'll try!  Does the runner count as a UFO?  After all, I have started it.  If not, I have, hmpf, several others to chose from.

I am working on an UFO today. Have only about 5 or 6 and I have been only doing my swap group sewing. I will work on only UFOs this year. I actually like the finishing more than the piecing.

If there is one overall resolution that quilters make at the beginning of the year, I'm sure it is to finish their UFO's!  Well, that and lose a few pounds.  (I'd be embarrassed to tell you how many of each I have.)
