Quilt With Us

I was going to the hospital to see mom and the snow came down in buckets. The main road turned to ice in a matter of an hour. I have our explorer with 4 wheel drive but no one else seems to remember how to drive. One does not sit at an intersection in a pickup truck with no weight in the bed and race the engine to watch their tires spin and the back end sliding around. So not cool! That was enough for me. I turned around stopped at the store got the fixings for Thanksgiving diner and came home. Called mom and talked to her on the phone for a bit. She is doing good and they say she can come home tomorrow! I informed her that dinner was here on thursday whether she liked it or not. Boy will we have a house full. The BF made good time today on the road and will make Oregon by tomorrow and should be here for dinner. Now pray for me, things are starting to come back together again. :)

Sounds like you made a very wise decision while out. We're taking the Subaru tomorrow and have chains for it just in case they are needed. But like you say.... it's those other drivers who don't drive smart.
Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Kathy, most of the folks here don't know how to drive when the weather is good, so when we do happen to have any snow the entire state shuts down. I wouldn't get on the road for all the tea in China. Stay safe and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Kathy, I am so glad that things are turning around. Stay out of the snow and safe. Safe home to your loved ones too!

It always amazes me how many people seem to forget how to drive after the first snowfall of the season. Hope everyone makes it to your home safe and sound.
