Quilt With Us

Ok so I have the first half of the two block quilt finished. I've spent most of my time this evening cutting out the pieces for the second block in the quilt. I knew when I designed the blocks and got my material from CT that this was going to be a quilt for my bed. That means it has to be king size. I guess I could have made the blocks larger but I think in all fairness that CT has got to take part of the blame for having made the material I had to have, couldn't live without and placed two separate orders to get!!!! :o)

So what was I thinking when I decided to make this quilt for my bed.... It will never be on my bed. For those of you who have read my blogs, you know about the wild herd of yorkies I have, was I out of my mind to think I could put this on my bed and keep the dogs off the quilt?????

I'm thinking that I will keep said quilt boxed up until the yorkies are gone. Of course by then I will be too old to remember where I put the dang thing and my daughter will end up with it after I depart this world. LOL

Nary a quilt on my bed either. I top the bed with a smooth Walmart flat sheet and on DH's side, blanket(s) between the two top sheets. I am much warmer than he is. Could it be bc of the three dogs - 63, 68 & 85 #s) and three cats who all push to sleep on "my" side???

My cats have their blanket on the foot of my bed. They sleep there even during the day when we get home from an errand, they are still on their blanket. I didn't train them just made sure it is a nice fuzzy blanket for them, DH did some training when he tossed and turned in his sleep. The blanket is on my side of the bed.

I'm sure that you will love your new quilt and enough to put it on your bed, even with all the Yorkies. They'll love it too. But if not, I'm only a few hours away, so I could come get it. Forget Gaile and Gayle, they are to far away and it costs to much to mail it to them. DH and I could have a nice day trip coming down. Use your quilt, because you can always wash it.

Gayle I am probably just as close as you, by distance!

Well Kathy, since Gaile lives over in the other country you could just send that quilt over here and the only pet in my house is my DH and he is too old to do damage to your quilt. LOL It is going to be beautiful!!!

I know what you're talking about... I've been working on a quilt for our bed that has a white background. Our dog is too old and crippled to get up onto our bed anymore, but there's still the black cat and his two orange co-horts that like to nap on our bed in the daytime and sleep at/on our feet at night. What was I thinking??????
