Quilt With Us

I was awakened by loud thunder at 4:30 a.m..  Once awake, that's it, I'm up for the day. I got all my bags packed, (three, plus a small table),  to take to guild.  I am in the habit of taking what Mum used to call a "lazy man's load).  Instead of taking three trips to the car I have to look like a "pack mule" taking off to the mountains for a month. Made my lunch. And off I went.( in a pouring down rain).  Got to the church and had to set up a bunch of tables and run the extention cords for when the girls arrived.  I set up my machine and found I didn't have the color thread I needed so I called dh. He wasn't home. It didn't surprise me.  I thought I will just have to use the color I have. It started to dawn on me that no one was showing up. This isn't unusal as we are on "Maine Time" here. (And damn time you feel like showing up).  I called the lady who was teaching the class. She wasn't home but her dil said she would call her on her cell. I got a call back that guild isn't this week but next weeks. I had a real big DUH moment. So I had to reverse direction of what I just explained above. I have been going to guild for 10 years....... always on the 3rd Sat. of the month. Now I sit here trying to retore some energy to work on the puse I was going to make at guild.

P.S. Dh just hollered to me that Holly threw up in my bedroom. I think I ought to go back to bed and start this day over.

We'll just call that a "practice run".

Thanks girls, for your understanding support. The day ended quite well, in spite of the rocky start. My friend and her husband called us to take a ride to Eastport, to  get a lobster roll at our favorite spot down by the ocean.  It's a take-out only so we sat at the picnic table and watched the ferries going back and forth to the islands in Canada. The cool breezes felt good as it was quite hot here in town. Then on the way home we got an icecream. Fresh lobster and icecream. Does it get any better? NOPE

OMG Irene how hilarious, sounds like it could have been me heheh. I understand about a "lazy man's" load, that was just what I was doing last Sept. when I was going into our quilting retreat and slipped on a patch of frost on the deck of the resort, resulted in tearing my rotator cuff. Stuborn cow that I was, I insisted on staying and sewing,  I completed the top to my GD's quilt and it hasn't been out of the case since, last time I was physically able to do any sewing for some time. Oh well sun will still come out tomorrow and you will get to do this all again next Saturday.

What a day for you Irene , sometimes a person should just stay in bed thunder or no thunder. Hopefully next week will be better

Irene, I am done moving in and settled, so now I think I am going to come and kidnap you and bring you out to the prairie and give you a chance to breathe and see something different.  I think you should start happy hour earlier and have it last longer.    LOL

Poor Irene! Let's hope tomorrow is a better day! :) Any day that starts with a clap of thunder never is my kind of morning! I am joining a couple of new guilds here. I can't keep straight all the thirds and fourths...AUGH! How about we all meet every week to quilt together and solve the problem all together? LOL
