Quilt With Us

I found, what I thought, was a good deal on a long arm quilter.  I have been looking at them for several years and simple could not pay that price for one.  I found this deal on a TinLizzie and just had to have it!  I counted my money that I had been saving from gifts and quilting and sewing over the past few years and had enough to order the machine.  Now my problem is "Where do I put it when it arrives??"  I have three to four weeks to build a room or clean out a room.  With 60 or more quilt tops already made, it just seemed like the way to go to get them all quilted.  Maybe I can sell them and build a room!

It took three days to put it together and my entire sun room, but it is up and running. I must practice, my quilting is terrible but I am determined. This was a quilt top that I put together wrong so instead of taking it apart I thought it would make a good practice quilt.  I have the batting pulled up to the top because my puppy likes to chew any that is laying on the floor or lose at her level.

I recently purchased a Baby Lock Crown Jewel longarm and have only half of the Pearl frame set up.  We are planning on adding on a project room next spring and then I'll be able to set up the full length of the quilting frame (120 inches).   I figure that I can still work on honing my quilting skills by quilting 1/3 or 1/2 of a quilt and joining the pieces together.  If there is a will, there is a way!!!!!

I have my Gammill in a small spare bedroom.  There is probably only about 2' of room to get around to the back of the machine.  It is in a room that is about 15" long by 12' wide.  It is a little cramped in there but I make it all work.  You will love it!  What type of quilting will you be doing?  Free motion, computerized, pantograph, all of the above?  lol

Thanks for all the encouraging words. I think it will have to fit in the sun room until I save enough for a new room.  I will have to get rid of some plants and furniture.
