Quilt With Us

Hi everyone, I haven't been on any blogs since 2009, so I was just looking around and found my page, so I thought I would write a short blog.  I've been making baby quilts for awhile now and so far having good luck selling them by word of mouth.  Now I've started making corded fabric bowls, and I absolutely love it.  They are turning out very nice.  I have them in a little consignment shop in Henderson, NV, for the upcoming Holiday Season.  Wish me luck!

Welcome back to QWU.  I make things and sell them.  And I also take in alterations.  I get a lot of work.

I have checked and rechecked the label on my cord and can not find anywhere it mentions propylene, so I am assuming it does not have it.  I have been using cord that I get from the hardware dept. at our local WalMart that is called SecureLine, cotton diamond braided cord.  Maybe I should look for the propylene cord.  Thanks for the tip!

to Barb/WI   I have a question about using cotton cord, I have been using cotton wrapped propylene cord, they advertise it as 100% cotton, and have also tried 100% cotton only cord, I have found that the propylene cord keeps it's shape better, which one do you use, and prefer?

It's fun when we get excited over a new technique or project.  Glad you checked back in with us!

I do wish you luck with your fabric bowls!  I love making them for gifts, too.  I'll never have the confidence to try selling my things, and admire those who do.
