Quilt With Us

What's today's project and deadline for book giveaway

If you want to win a paperback copy of Murder by Serpents: The Mystery Quilt, the drawing is tomorrow. Be sure and put your name on the list.

Commercial is over--now back to quilting! Today I'm working on machine buttonhole around fused car and truck motifs for my grandson. What is everyone else doing?

I'm just down from the mountain with Mitzie (the cat) in tow.  Boy she KNOWS when she has to get in her very plush traveling box, and it nowhere to be found.  I have to allow extra time to locate her latest time-out spot before we can leave!

Quilting motivation has appeared for me in the form of a new kit from CT.  It was waiting for me on the table tonight (DH went back to the valley a little early).  Haven't even opened it yet -- dinner first -- but can't wait.  If the cutting is pretty straight forward, I'll take it with me next month on the 3-day quilting retreat.

I'm continuing to complete UFOs; has been my goal for the winter.  Not done but making progress.  Also, started a new quilt---Ohio Stars; am using fabrics I've had for a few years.  All fabrics are tiny prints, most dark colors so quilt will look a little old.  Just finished a bag to hang from machine to throw small scraps and threads in while sewing.  Will take photo and post it.  Happy quilting.

I think I'm in between projects.  I finished up a set of embroidered redwork pillowcases, then worked for a time on an applique project, made and handquilted a table runner as a wedding gift, and also have a half-finished hand quilted twin quilt in my lap frame.  The thing is, I am really unmotivated to work on anything right at the moment.

I have been busy trying to keep up with my three block of the week quilts, and studiously ignoring all the other projects that are calling to me! Your cars and rucks sound cute! Oh, also I have been learning how to wire the brim of a lace hat I knitted two or three years ago, it hasn't been going that well.

I went to Chucke Cheeses for the first time for our gdson's birthday. Okay, that is all of that I need to experience!!! The kids were having a ball, but the noise was deafening! Will hit the machine tomorrow!
