Quilt With Us

We're awfully quiet...must be holed up in our sewing rooms....

I've been hand quilting a twin quilt for a gift for my sister while watching the Daytona 500. But, it is time to watch Syracuse vs Army college Lacrosse! Have a good evening!

Here I am Pam, wave-wave.  I have been working on a baby quilt.  Today I have to take my sister to Bangor to a dr. appointment.  So the only quilting I will be able to do today will be this morning.

I've been super busy piecing, appliqueing, and quilting a project that i started earlier this month. Basically this was a test to see if i could actually complete a quilt aka wall hanging, in its entirety. The task is done and air drying on the sewing table. Of course this quilt has a story which will be told in a post soon with pics. I feel like I just gave birth!

Started a new quilt for my 11 yr old granddaughter. She picked all the fabrics from my stash......... yes, believe it! So one side is wild animals, w/ black spiders and some kind of circus stuff (LOL) and the other side? It's pretty much sports, some hockey, some sneakers & etc, and different soccer balls with blues and ?? Not sure which side will be the front yet..................... it should be interesting!

Yes we are still sewing,,,what ever it is we work on.. With our house back on the market again and trying to get rid of some of the things I no longer need in my sewing room,,How is that possible ???  But decisions have to be made,,if we will downsize. Still working on my charity quilts,,and making some progress,,,if I don't have to clean so much. Was also making the Christmas ornaments to give away as gifts in case we moved..We both still have our jobs so we are good as far as that goes depending on the Goverment cuts they make this week...Wishing you well...

All you lucky quilters busy sewing all weekend!  I work 2 weekends/month so that's were I was.  You guys had more fun but I earned money for more fabrics!!  Since I only work 4 days/month can't complain and I always need more fabric- win win.

Well, I have been trying to get motivated to quilt/sew all weekend! I've been sick and just don't have the energy to do anything creative. A lot of the staff and kids at the elementary school I work at are struggling with this cold crud, too. And PQ, I weakened last fall and bought Downton Abbey seasons 1 and 2. A couple of weeks ago, I saw season 3 at Costco, so bought that, too! I am going to wait a couple of months and then watch all of them start to finish.....I' m hooked on DA!

We did get about 8" of snow.  The wind was the issue, not so much the amount of snow.  We're supposed to get another inch tonight.  We need all the moisture we can get!

I am trying an experiment.  Instead of getting on the computer first thing in the morning, I'm trying to wait until after I have accomplished something in my sewing room first before I get online and end up losing track of time.  I did some hand quilting, plus sewed some flying geese units for a mystery quilt that I'm finishing up.  Before I did that I actually went outside & shoveled snow for 45 minutes!  Not fun at all, but it did make my DH feel so guilty that he went out and finished the job.  I wonder if he has figured out yet that there was a method to my madness.  <smile>

Yes, yippee, I've been in my sewing room for most of the weekend. Can I tell you how rare that is and how much fun I've been having!?! Finished the top of the mystery quilt I've been designing for book 6. The thing has a little attitude but will get better. Made quilted book covers--one paperback size and one hardcover size for a charity auction--along with a table runner and 4 mug rugs. I'll try to get a photo posted soon.

I'm trying to learn free motion machine quilting--argh--that's not going as well as hoped but I'm not getting worse. :)

Oh, and I cleaned out my stash--giving fabrics I don't like or scraps too big to throw away to a couple of ladies who make scads of charity quilts. They are amazingly generous. (makes me feel kind of scummy)

Everyone have fun.
