Quilt With Us

I had a good Spirit Led week.  I hope you had the same.

I was able to do some work on Avery's quilt.  I started making the individual 'Dresden petals'.  Of the 250 that needed done, I think I had 170 done.  I was waiting on the fabric to finish.  The fabric made it on Friday.  Now I have all the 'petals' made and 200 of them sewn into the circle (10 petals each = 20 circles).  5 more circles are ready to go.  After I get these together, I think the worst is over.  I only have about 6 to 8 weeks to complete this and the cross throw to finish before our special angel gets here.

We went to husbands Dr. visit on Wednesday.  Now we have the scope and biopsy set up for the 26th.  Please keep him in your prayers.

On Saturday, our oldest came and took down the Christmas lights.  We are so blessed to have our boys that are ready and willing to assist us at the drop of a hat.  He is also assisting on medical bills.  All my husband has is Medicare.  No other insurance.

This is going to be a tricky week.  Today is MLK day, so schools and gov businesses are closed.  Tonight and into Tuesday we are looking at getting ice then snow up to 2 inches.  I am not looking forward to this.  But at least I will not need to get out in it.  I know, some of you giggle at 2 inches, but I am in Texas!  And on top of that there will be ice under the snow, making it more treacherous to drive on.

Have a blessed week... and continue to pray for us, Thank you

Sounds like you are on target to finish your project by the deadline!  Prayers are with you and your family.

What a cute block.  Your new grandbaby is going to sleep so comfy under that quilt.

It has been extremely cold here in Mid-Missouri too.  Waking up to minus 1 or 2 degrees plus the wind chill factor.  Makes me want to move back to TX or NV, but it has been cold there too.

Your weather sounds a bit like we have been getting. But today is sunny but very cold. We had two weeks in a row with sub zero temps. Your quilt blocks are pretty. Looking forward to seeing the finished quilt.

We are currently in the middle of the ice/snow event here in East Texas.  Temps will not be getting above freezing today and the wind shill is about 8 degrees.  That is extremely cold for Texas.  Roads are closed all around.  Even parts of the interstate highways.  No one can get up the 'hills' except a few that have 4 wheel drive vehicles.

I am staying home.  Staying bundles up.  I have always hated the cold, but understand it is a necessary evil.  It is good for plants and for killing off some bugs, etc.

Here is a taste of the quilt I am working on.

There are a total of 25 of them.  Then sew them together, sandwich, quilt and bind.

You are getting that quilt done! Ice is never fun and two inches of snow when you don't have the equipment to plow it, can be awful. Texans don't really know how to drive in that kind of weather. In upstate NY, you slow down!!!!
