Quilt With Us

I just read a few blog posts that were wishing for summer to be over already. Well, I can tell you from the teacher's point of view - we're very excited for kids to be spending time with their parents right now. :-D
Today I got to spend almost 3 hours at the dog park with good friends, human and canine. We all left when we got hungry for lunch, and the dogs were exhausted. What a great way to wake up and spend a sunny morning. Then spent rest of day with cats, birds, napping, and then off to band practice.

Hmm, now tomorrow's Wednesday, right? What shall I do tomorrow? OH yes, I am sewing with my quilting group that I can only spend summers with (same thing with another quilter, we both work in schools and can only do daytime quilting during the summer) Been looking forward to this all school year, will have to spend tomorrow morning deciding which WIP to take with me. Decisions, decisions LOL

I didn't even think about going BJ, but I don't have anything scheduled for Saturday yet...LOL. SO maybe that's a doable. Will depend on how much I have to spend at the vet this Thursday.

So good to hear from you, Suzanne. I've missed you. I hope you have an absolutely wonderful summer. Are you going to the quilt show in Ephrata this weekend? I'll be going on Saturday. Debbie has a booth there. Have a wonderful day sewing with your group.

Enjoy your time; you've earned it. I get so angry when people begrudge teachers their summer. A good teacher is worth so much more than she or he is paid. All those nights getting ready for projects and correcting papers; you have my admiration. Thanks to you and all those dedicated teachers out there who influence our kids' lives (and yep I've made sure that I've told my own kids' most influential teachers how much I appreciate them.)

Suzanne, it sounds like you had the perfect day yesterday.

Hope you have a great summer. I could take summer all year long with the garden to play in [which is very small] and rainy days and evening to sew.

Suzanne, are you already out of school for the summer. Glad you are getting to enjoy "Your Time". Have a great summer.

It's always good to get a break so I'm glad your getting a chance to spend some time doing the things you enjoy aside from work. I have been retired for 3 years and I'm doing all the things I wanted to do while I worked but didn't have time. I too am an animal lover. I grew up on a farm. I use to have six birds but am down to two now. The others died over a period of several years. I have a Yellow Naped Amazon and an Indian Ring Neck Parrakeet left. And my precious "old" dog that I got at the shelter. I loved looking at your pictures of your beautiful sewing projects and your animals.

Sounds like you are falling into a great routine for summer! You've earned it! My son and dil are teachers and they are looking forward to activities with the boys! How's the smelly skunk situation?
