Quilt With Us

Oh wait, it's not the GS I get to baby sit.  DD is finally going home from the hospital today. It's DD that I get to babysit.  A moms job is never done.

DD is finally going home after nearly a week in the hospital with blood clot.  Baby Aiden is doing fine in the "oven" although they are moving his due date up from late Feb to early Feb.  (I still say Jan but then that's just my opinion) With DD on blood thinners they are controling when to take her off them and deliver baby Aiden. In the meanwhile, I will be keeping her company on my days off work and after work when needed and pushing her to get mobile again.  She did much better walking around her room with walker than yesterday.

I'm not so sure DD will want to see me much after she recovers.  Quality time with DD is great in moderation only.  Thank goodness that I don't have to give her the blood thinning shot.  That job is all on her DH.

So if anyone has any ideas on small projects that we can work on that will help pass her time as she lays on the couch or in bed, I'm open to suggestions.  Keeping in mind DD is not a crafty person and something for the baby coming next year would be great.

Actually I went to Joann's this morning and found a latch hook kit that I thought she could handle while sitting in the chair.  She was sleeping when I got there. Her DH left to run some errands and she perked up a bit.  We talked and then she started her kit.  Bought a fish hook rug.  I figure she can make it and then we can frame it and make it a wall hanging.  It's only 12 X12

Good luck. How about making a flannel "rag" quilt for the baby. After you sew it, she can clip it.

It's never easy taking care of the sick.  It's a true labor of love and very exhausting.  I wish I had some idea's to offer to while the time away.  Other then some good books and t.v. since she is not a crafter, is all that comes to mind.  I will continue to keep her and you in my prayers.

Yikes...you have your hands full.  Adults of almost any gender are cruddy patients at home.  At least at the hospital they do what the nurses tell them to do.  I have to go to Wenatchee today for 2 dr appts so will try and think of something the two of you can do.  That's gonna be a tough one. You two two and a half take care.

So glad she is going home. Hopefully she will recover quickly and be able to enjoy these last weeks of her pregnancy.
