Quilt With Us

As you know I Have been trying to start a pattern design company,http://www.stipplestashstudio.com and sell my patterns to stores. I have had some success locally and am trying to branch out. Do you think it would be a good idea to send out sample packages to stores that they could look at and sell if they want to? My concern is as always... Is that too forward or rude?? Should I try something else ...and do you have any suggestions? Thanks for your help... I know I can count on you!!!

Lynda- Debbie is a great perosn to run your ideas by. Her and I email each other. I have asked her questions and she has great tips. Also have you considered getting a table rented at a local show and get some of your patterns out there also like someone said with your samples. I talked to the LQS and they told me samples sell patterns and classes. Also if you are interested I know we have our Quilt show from our Guild in October and we have vendors there selling fat quarters ,patterns etc. Or have you considered even at a show selling kits with your pattern.Just a thought. Hope it helps.

Contact Debbie Snyder, here on the site, and see what she might suggest. She sells patterns and I think would be a great resource for you. Good luck with yours!

I think you should make up samples of your patterns,I know after seeing samples of pattern that I would buy if I liked one of then. To see something made up well sell it faster.

I think a brochure or catalog would be a good idea to send to quilt shops. I know that my LQS would welcome patterns from small companies if she thought that they would appeal to her clientele. Be sure to some "about us" kind of info in to show that you are a small business (just like them).
