I have just finished the block and will mail it tomorrow.  In a week we will be driving to vancouver with a few stops along the way and I will not be back until the end of January.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Hi Phyllis,

Your Christmas wallhanging is very lovely.  It reminds me when my mom was alive and in a retirement home and then a long term care facility, I had made her a nativity scene panel and I free motion quilted it.  She loved it so much she kept it up all year round.  And everyone who came in her room had to admire it and she told them what a good quilter I was!  I have it now!  Such a nice memory!

Phyllis, I can't find the messages you guys sent me re: our friend shannon, what colors was it she doesn't like? and how do I get Chrissie's address again?

sorry to be such a pest.

Thanks, Phyllis.  I was so happy to get the QOV done.  The other quilt "In The Forest" was just a lot of fun.

Hi Phyllis,

Thank you for asking me to be your friend.  I agree with you that it is nice to do your own quilting.  I can do a few more intricate no-mark overall free motion quilting motifs but I chose a large meandering motif for donation quilts.  Most everything I make I give away.

Hi Phyllis,

Scrambledf Fat Quarters is a QOV pattern that I was given at the QOV quilt-in in the Spring to have finished by the Fall Quilt-in in November.  I was also given a precut fabric baggie.

I love the pattern myself.  I mixed up the placement when I was sewing the blocks together and it doesn't matter.  I have the pattern right in front of me, but I don't know how to scan it.  I know it wouldn't matter to the QOV people to share it.  I can easily make you a copy and send it.  My e-mail is ea-phillips@hotmail.com.

Thanks Phyllis! That is kind of what I am doing too. I hope mine turns out as well as yours did.

thank you, and yes we are fortunate.

I first learned to quilt in B.C. and haven't stopped.  I have picked up tips and tricks along the way.  Your quilts are great.

Hi Phyllis ~

Nice to hear from you.

The picture I posted is of the very first quilt I made - a wedding gift for my neice.  I bought way too much fabric and still have a bunch left for other projects.  I had that quilt quilted by a lady with a long arm machine.  Now I'm trying to invent a way to do my own quilting one block at a time.  I have a really hard time following orders so I kind of figure out my own way to get the job done.  Arthritis puts limits on working with large quilts all at once.

I didn't particularily enjoy it, but I will try again if for no other reason to use it up. Have to be frugal don't we. Maybe I would try it on a tote bag or something.

Thanks Phyllis, I will look up your site and take a look at your bag. Did you like working with the texture magic?

Phyllis, I finally finished my bag using the texture magic. I posted it on my photos. It is the red, black and white bag. What pattern are you using for your project? Mine is the Slouchy Bag from the Quilt Patch in Moose Jaw.
Have a great weekend.
