I hope you had a great time visiting your sister. How is your next week shaping up for breakfast I have a dentist appt. on Thursday @ 11 for a crown but otherwise okay. I think Agnes was busy 1 day - Friday-?
Hi Phyllis, I would love to take a road trip to Morden, maybe one of these days.
I gathered by the newsletters that it is a very active shop, that is great. Our LQS is really nice but not a lot going on. The one in Moose Jaw is more active and they do lots of fun things. Pearl seems like such a nice lady. I loved her homey type newsletter. I hope her retirement isn't health related, and hope she enjoys her retirement. Is she leaving the area?
Thanks for your info, it must have been nice working there.
Thank you so much for the Birthday greetings! What a delight to read warm wishes from people I don't even know. How I love Quilters!
Spent my birthday at the largest outdoor Quilt Show in the world - in Sisters, Oregon. "Just' a 2.5 hour drive from my house - plus 35 minutes to drive the final 2 miles into town! Gorgeous quilts, great ideas, fabulous weather. This was the 35th anniversary, and honored founder, quilter and local business woman Jean Wells of The Stitchin Post.
I have a dear friend that grew up in Morden, she married a farmer near Walhalla and they have just moved into a retirement home in Cavalier. She was a nurse but I don't remember her maiden name and she is in her 70's. We still stay in touch by mail.
Your quilts are beautiful Phyllis- I love the black one with the 9 patches set on point and the rich orange and brown colors. I also think your butterfly is gorgeous. The bags are sweet and the wall hanging with Photographs looks like a treasure for a loved one. Thanks for sharing your fantastic quilts.
Happy quilting my prairie friend from another prairie girl.
That's wonderful Phyllis! I like to put my own stuff together too and will do more of that.....eventually lol I have so many BOMs and projects going right now. I was thinking of the Carpenters Wheel or a Mariners Compass for the center....and definitely Stars to go around....and GOTTA have a chocolate color scheme!!!! I love that. ;0)
Thanks for the label idea!! I am a newbie but I like to try new things. My quilt teacher just shakes her head and laughs as every week I come on with something new to work on. This summer (I am a teacher) my job is to finish a bunch of UFO's!!
Have a great weekend.
