Hi Karla, I looked at your lovely exploding table runner, I really like it, do you have the sizes of the pieces if you don't mind and I am not stepping over boundaries. Can u also tell me what Betsy is, I have heard of it but don't know what it is. Hope all is well with you and u enjoyed Easter time. Bye Marianne
I obviously have not been paying attention to this site lately!
nice to hear from you, did you know that there is a quilt guild in Marshalltown? we meet at Trinity Lutheran Church (over near Anson School) on the first Tuesday of the month (which if you read this soon is tonight 4/1) at 6PM ( i can't make it tonight but usually am there) hope to meet up with you sometime.
Karla, I can't take credit for the quilting as I use robotics too. Yesterday I decided to try my hand at free motion and it still sucks so back goes the robotics on the machine. Just put a new quilt top onto the frame yesterday but scared to start quilting it as its been quilt a few months since I quilted last. Just wasn't in the mood most all winter which is usually the time to get our quilting done since we can't venture outdoors much.
Anyway, just wanted to say I did pick up the Pineapple Salsa pattern, thanks for letting me know the name of it and I also have the latte embroidery designs but have never bothered to do anything with them.
Good Morning Karla, I know what your saying about cockatiels. They are so much fun. I use to say to Lindy, "kiss belly" and he would stretch up so I could kiss his belly. Pedro my Maroon Belly Conure used to sit on my glasses and look at himself in the reflection. They all have their own special traits. My Amazon don't know he can fly so walks around the house, getting into everything. I have to shut the door into the sewing room as he chews on everything. He climbs up the stairs but can't get onto the landing so he sits up there talking and laughing until we go get him. He is over in his cage now saying "hi, what ya doin" and then laughing. The sun is shining so he is wound up this morning. lol
Thank you for inviting me to be your friend. I see your a bird lover also. I had 6 birds at one time. Two cockatiels, two conures, ( Mitred and a Maroon Belly) an Indian Ringneck parakeet and my Yellow Naped Amazon. They have all died except the Amazon. He is 21 years old. Most of them were rescue's. I also have a four year old spoiled dog. Also a rescue.
Thank you for your kind words Karla. I love your dresden plate projects. I have a dresden plate quilt that I just recently finished. I will be posting it soon - as soon as I can figure out how to do it again, its been awhile.
Thanks Karla, you just really need to pay attention when cutting and stacking pieces so you keep them in order. I have also made a Christmas tree skirt using that ruler. I would like to find more things to make using that ruler since its a little pricey. Have a great day.
Karla you are welcome, Clemons I have heard of the town but don't know where it is for sure. I am going to make our barn a quilt this summer. One of my to do things. Glad you have joined us. Oh was looking at some of your quilts, they are really pretty.
Hi, Pat! Thank you so much for your kind compliments! I do like to put buttons on my quilts and I normally just tie them on with three or four strands of embroidery floss.
I don't have a barn out here, but a metal building that my son and husband put my barn quilt on for me. I've wanted to do one for a long time and finally last summer I was able to get it done. Each log of the design is an individual board that was cut and painted and then clued and nailed on to a backing board. Lots of fun to do.
Thanks again for contacting me. Will look forward to meeting you soon!
You have some amazing quilts! Looking forward to meeting you in person! I see buttons on some of your quilts-are they just tied with the buttons or are they quilted also? I am thinking of your30's star quilt. I put some buttons on a wall hanging and got a 2nd place at our quilt show a couple of years ago. I like your barn quilt--do you have it on a barn? I was thinking about painting one on my garage door, but they re-painted it when I had my house painted,so I didn't want to mess it up. Happy National Quilting Day!
