HI Susan, It's been a long time since you sent me Celestial Dreams and I wanted to let you know that I finally started the quilt. I've even finished my 1st block on Saturday. I started with the Saturn, small corner block and have begun one of the small corner blocks with circles and star in middle. How long did it take you to complete the entire quilt? On some of the more detailed areas, did you use fusible applique, or was it all needleturn? I'm doing the back-basting technique and that has worked great so far, but am not sure how it will be once I get to more complicated blocks. Woo-Hoo….it's begun! (My applique sewing group thinks I'm crazy to pick this as my first applique project…..LOL)

Thanks Susan for the info on the Civil War Bride. I did finally find it and saw it was all applique. Don't think i am ready for that yet. It is beautiful though. I also have 3 little puppies just 2 weeks old. They spend the day in my sewing room with me as it is so hot outside. Then at night they go back to their mom. I bottle feed them during the day.
I see you have lots of help in your sewing room too. Our pets are so precious. My babies.

Hi Susan,
I noticed a few more blocks with differences. I hope you don't think I'm being disrespectful of the quilt or Brenda's work. I love the quilt and am so thrilled there is a book to give us all the blocks. My eyes just notice details which are different - I could always do those puzzles where things are different in the second picture and you have to find them or see when movies forgot to change their set scene.

Here's the list,
L2 - the narrow cross in the background goes right to the tip with the brown color - there is no triangle at the end
K4 - The 4 dark triangles pieces around the square have a narrow strip of white along their base.
E6 -The long rectanges of red and white look like a rail fence - unless the fabric has a white strip in the center of it.
F1- The four diamonds in the outside corners should be kite shaped.
C13- Blue cornerstones are missing from pattern
A13- the white rectages forming the cross are missing their end line before the triangle tips.
Triangle - Left side 12th from top (pg157) Bottom triangle isn't clear in the pattern - lines were left in.
Triangle - Bottom row 12th from left (pg149) the center pyramid should have its bottom diamond centered between the left and right triangle at the bottom ( setting into the flying geese at the bottom).
Are you sorry you asked??? Please take a look and tell me what you think. I hope my notes make sense to you.

Thanks again, I'll send EQ6 an email.

I was looking at the Dear Jane book and I noticed another block which is drafted different than the original. M5 - Mother ____(?) - I can't recall the whole name. There is a 4 patch in opposing corners and in the picture they are framed on all sides, not just the outside. What do you think? Do you know of any other's drafted differently?
Take care,

Hi again. I'm wondering if you can help? I purchase Dear Hannah online and it said either EQ5 or Dear Jane could support it. I have EQ6, so I thought it would be no problem. No matter how I install, or transfer it into EQ6 it is not showing up on in my block library. Do you have any suggestions? It was a new disc.
I love your quilts. I keep having to stop typing to watch your pictures. Gorgeous.

Thanks Susan. If you make another one...... your ambitious!! I can hardly imagine making one, let alone two!
Do you know if any other blocks are drafted off? Can you share the new drafted block with me?
Thanks again,

Dear Susan,
I was reading from the Dear Jane group and noticed you'd changed the A1 block. I just borrowed the book from a friend and started reading it this week. If memory serves me, the book shows A1 with hour glass blocks. On the pictures you posted, was the second block your changed design or did you follow the book? I noticed she cut the sides shorter on one side.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Susan, I am finally about to put the scallop boarders on but unfortunately a little confused. I figured I should draw the scallops on the boarder fabric then pin to quilt. The reqal problem I am having is how to make that small corner scallop on the top of the kites. Any suggestions?

Hi Susan, so glad that I read the info with your pdf concerning corner kites. I am sure I saved myself time setting the hexagon seams into the block. Still have to finish the rest of the boarders, packed at least 30 pounds of fabric when I returned to Cairo so I hope I am all set. Thanks again, for your help. Debi
