Peg...Thank you and I would like any info that you can find. I was looking at the rest of your pics and saw one that I recognized as coming from Keepsake.I looked thru my past catalogs from Keepsake for a picture of the Ryhthum and Blues quilt and could not find it so maybe they are no longer carrying it. The rest of your work is beautiful. Thank you again.
Hi Peg, thanks for the nice comments on my baby quilts. The pattern Rockabye came from the book PS I Love You Three by Lynda Milligan and Nancy Smith. I've had this book for some time and had kind of "overlooked" this pattern until my cousin and I were looking for something for a baby quilt for her great niece. She had purchased a crib sheet to match the bedding and curtains Mom had chosen and that's what I used for the border and center strip of the "weaving" strips. So it should go with her nursery nicely. I really liked how it does resemble a woven basket with the colors of the strips repeating from border to border. I will use this pattern again - I think it would work for any fabrics, not just juvenile.
Peg, did you check out the ngosew store on ebay? I got my stuff a few days ago and bobbins/cases are working perfect. I haven't tried the needles yet, but they should fit, they are the right size/system as the ones that came with my machine, just a different brand.
The thread is supposed to come today! I am excited to try it out and let everyone know. I was on MQR yesterday and noticed they had a referring link for CTS, so it should be good thread. We'll see if Daisy likes it.
I'm glad you like Sophia's quilt. It was fun to do. I saw it in similar colors while visiting my son in San Jose, California. He was pressed into doing a shop-hop for his sister and me. I bought the pattern and was amazed at the difference. If I hadn't seen it made up, I would never have given that pattern a second look - done in browns and blacks and dull reds, plaids and solids. Unfortunately I didn't remember to take a photo before I sent it to California! It did win a blue ribbon in our county fair. I am really a hand quilter, but because I have more pieced tops than I could quilt in a life time, I am learning to use a LA. Have neither the space nor the cash to purchase one, but a nearby quilt shop rents an HQ 18 for just $15 an hour for actual quilting time only. That's a bargain!
Peg, you can use isacord, but you'll have to fiddle with tension quite a bit. Take it looser- way loose or your thread will shread. I make it sounds so scary, it's not impossible- just takes some patience. I think shinny would look good on that quilt. I do like the yellow, more and more when I think about it.
Peg, not sure of the thread. Didn't you say you were going to quilt circles? Right now, I am thinking a soft, but bright, yellow. It can act as a neutral, but still be a vibrant part of the quilt. What do you think?
Very fun quilt, but I can see how you got bored with the peicing!
Peg, I'm a member of The Quilt show. I've looked for patterns they might sell but couldn't find just the patterns. They seem to sell the entire kits and I wanted to do my own colorway. I see they have a beautiful applique BOM this year but not too fond of the colors.
Thanks Peg, I am not going to need it in the next day or two so I will check in as soon as we are back home if not before. If she will send the info I would be thrilled but if not....... I am going to be trying to sign on at the hospital but I couldn't get internet last time he was there, I will see. Thanks to all of you for continued prayers.
Thanks Peg, if you can get a set of instructions I would appreciate it. I will be out of reach here for about a week as DH is having heart surgery on Thursday a.m. in New Orleans. We will be leaving here very early Wed. to get there and get ready. When we get back, I will get in touch with you or you can just leave me a message here. Thanks again, Gayle
Yes my husband made the quilt hanger also. He also made me a large cutting table with shelves below and a sewing cabinet for my domestic mashine. He is very handy to have around. I love my longarm and have a small customer base started. I do a lot of Pantographs and have a good stash of patterns so my customers have a lot to choose from.
Hi Peg, thanks for inquiry on my "Town Square Express". It's a fun quilt to put together. You can go to my website http://www.quiltedinspirations.net and in the pattern section you can order a pattern and the train and tree applique's through PayPal. Thanks again and let me know if you have any ???'s
Peg, hopefully you will get your baby today? I have been spending the last few days reading or skimming old posts on the Yahoo Innova site. What a lot of valuable information there is there. I have to confess though that most of it goes over my head!
I haven't seen you online today,so wonder if you LA is here? Hope you are having fun with it. I have a question for your DH. Where can I donate old RR hobby magazines? I have some from the 90's to 2001,from my DFIL. Probably also have some Nscale ones from DH as well. Then there is a lot of other stuff to ask him about.
