I know what you mean. It IS a long way between population centers in this part of the world, but we kind of like it that way. I suppose we don't know what we're missing in the way of services, eating places, and shopping. We hope to have green grass one of these days. So far, all we've had is a lot of white stuff. :)
Yes, I have been to the shop in Leoti. A couple of other ladies and I are participating in the Buck a Block there, so we go there once a month, although we just started in Feb. They even gave us the first 5 blocks we missed at $1 each, so that was awesome. We just had to have all 5 done when we went back in March. It is a really nice shop too, and the ladies that run it are really nice. Not quite as much fabric as Colby, but I like what they have. Bought stuff for an Easter wall hanging there the first of March, but haven't started on it. I did get to sew on my new Janome yesterday afternoon and I do like it. It will take some getting used to though.
Sounds like you live in the same area as I do--except I'm on the northern edge of the middle of nowhere. The weather channel seem to forget we exist out here!!
Congrats on your new machine. Hope you like it. If got the same machine last Saturday, but just got it unpacked last night. Anxious to get sewing and check out all the perks it does. Have a good week-end and happy sewing!
Hello, I searched for members in Oklahoma. You were attached to a Panhandle Pal blog. I have family in Sunray Tx. My parents grew up in Erick Ok and Texola. I now live in Norman Oklahoma. Just wanted to say hello to someone in the middle of nowhere.
I grew up in the Texas Panhandle--Amarillo and Pampa--and have driven through the Oklahoma Panhandle about a zillion times. At least I did when I was young. My best friend (another quilter) has a scissor issue but nowhere near yours. Happy Quilting!
Hello scissors queen. I live in SD so am nit a close neighbor but still quilters are always close in heart. I am Roxiebee and am married to the same guy for 38 years. I love to sew! Working on a hand applique block for our guild right now. I enjoy all types of sewing and am a recovering counted cross stitch addict! hah! I have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren, 4 boys and one granddaughter. I started quilting because used to decorative paint and couldn't find a supportive community close to home for that art so decided to change venues and quilting caught my eye. Now everywhere I go there are quilters, love it! It will be exciting to exchange ideas and get to know one another, roxiebee
Thanks for the comment. Glad you thought my little blue flower quilt was neat. Blue is my favorite colour... always has been.. probably always will be. There is very little blue in my fabric stash. It always gets used up !
Hello Scissor queen. I am new to Quilt with us. I rec'd an e-mail from you saying you sent a comment about one of my pictures... but where do I find it? I checked the white envelope but nothing. Sorry, I'm just finding my way around and want to read your comment.
